Healthfest celebrated a health lifestyle and it turned out to be a tremendous success. It was held throughout the first week of May.\u00a0The PSD, PE and Art teachers\u2019 joined forces to create healthy activities for every year group.\u00a0 The main objectives behind this project\u00a0were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to understand the importance of choosing healthy food;<\/li>\n<li>to create art food and thus present snacks which are appealing to children and<\/li>\n<li>to exercise physically on a daily basis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here is a daily record of what went on!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday 5\u00a0May 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Year 6 classes were engaged in a cooking session.\u00a0 Three classes worked on an Angry Bird Pitta while the other three created a Pirate Pitta. \u00a0The children brought all the necessary ingredients\u00a0from home but prepared and create palm trees with bananas and kiwi while the other three classes made\u00a0a clown&#8217;s face, always using fruit. \u00a0 The children enjoyed decorating their fruit salad but most of all &#8220;owly&#8221; and &#8220;fishy&#8221; sandwiches.\u00a0The classes were divided into two groups.\u00a0 The first group worked on the owl sandwich; the main ingredients being cheese and to get their favourite cereal and fruit.\u00a0 Together with the first group, we created a butterfly with fruit on a base of cereal in a cup cake container.\u00a0 The second three classes were asked to create a ladybird.\u00a0 The children were very enthusiastic during the activities.\u00a0 One of the activities consisted in squeezing and drinking orange juice.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-7' Year 4 classes walked from Zabbar to Xghajra enjoying a lunch break by the sea and then proceeded to Smart City. The older students walked from Zabbar to Birgu and Kalkara.\u00a0 Finally, we all gathered back to school tired but happy that we all finished the Fun Walk.<\/p>\n<div id='gallery-9' class='gallery
