There has never been a better time to develop our digital skills as this time. This task will help students learn how to search for information effectively and how to create online presentations.
A note for parents: Students will need access to a computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone. We understand that in some extreme cases, these may not be available. As an alternative, students may read a book and write ten sentences about it.
Many great museums around the world are now offering virtual tours of their collections. This means that you can visit the museum from the comfort of your home. At a time when we ALL need to stay at home, this is a very good way to discover and learn a few interesting things. Here is what you need to do:
- Start by searching for “virtual museums” on the internet. You will get a long list of possibilities.
- Choose a museum that interests you. It could be anyone.
- Spend time exploring the collection.
- Select 2 important exhibits in this museum and find out more about them.
- Create a short online PowerPoint presentation. Login to Office online using your ilearn email account and password.

- Choose PowerPoint.

- Create a new presentation.

- Learn how to create a PowerPoint presentation online. This is very similar to creating a PowerPoint presentation offline. The difference is that your presentation will be stored in the cloud, online.
- Your presentation needs to include some general information about the museum you looked at, and the 2 exhibits you chose.
- Make your presentation as interesting as you can!
- When your presentation is ready, click share in the top right corner. Do not forget to include your name!

- Copy the link.
- Fill in this form and paste the link to your presentation by pressing CTRL V.
- Teachers will be able to see your presentation and you will be able to share it with your classmates when schools re-open.
- Your presentation needs to be ready by Friday 20 March 2020.
- Those who have forgotten their email or password, or do not have access to a computer to create the PowerPoint, should write at least 10 sentences about the museum of your choice and they will hand this in when schools re-open.
Have fun and remember to stay safe by staying indoors.
