YR6 – 23 TO 27 MARCH 2020

Here is a list of activities that Year 6 students can work on during the week 23 to 27 March 2020. We trust parents to take an active role and do what is right for their children during this difficult time. Some children may not manage to finish all the work and that is fine.

Hawnhekk għandkom issibu lista ta’ attivitajiet li t-tfal tas-6 sena jistgħu jagħmlu matul din il-ġimgħa li ġejja. F’dan iż-żmien diffiċli il-ġenituri għandu jkollhom rwol attiv u jagħmlu dak li hu fl-aħjar interess tat-tfal. Nifhmu li xi tfal mhux ser ilestu l-attivitajiet kollha u b’daqshekk ma jkun ġara xejn.

Note – If you know someone who does not have access to internet, give them a telephone call and let them know what they can do. Help out in any way you can.

Nota – Jekk tafu b’xi ħadd li m’għandux aċċess għall-internet, ċemplulhom u għidulhom x’jistgħu jagħmlu minn dan ix-xogħol. Ejjew ngħinu lil xulxin kemm nistgħu.

  • Malti
    1. Idħol fil-klassi tal-Malti fuq it-tablet u ara l-PowerPoints tan-numri u l-ħin bil-Malti.
    2. Fil-PowerPoints għandek issib xi eżerċizzji. Aħdimhom fuq pitazz u meta tlesti ara li weġibt tajjeb.
    3. Jekk għandek il-pack tal-Grammatika tista’ taħdem il-paġni li għandek vojta sa paġna 65.
    4. Agħmel dan il-kwiżż billi tagħfas fuq dan il-link.
    5. Din il-ġimgħa ipprova sfida lilek innifsek u dejjem aqra l-ħin bil-Malti. Ibqa’ pprova u jekk m’intix ċert għid lil xi ħadd jgħinek u jikkoreġik.
    6. Studja wkoll xi numri li jafu jkunu xi ftit imqarbin biex niktubhom bħal: sbatax, dsatax, għoxrin, tletin, erbgħin, sebgħin, disgħin, mitejn, tliet mija. Għid lil xi ħadd jaqrahomlok u ara ktibthomx sewwa.
  • Mathematics
    1. Watch this short video clip about shapes.
    2. Go on a shape hunt around your house and photograph at least one object which has the shape of a cube, cuboid, sphere, cone and cylinder.
  • Science
    1. Watch this video to learn how to identify the various measuring instruments which are used to record the weather.
  • Read for at least 30 minutes in either English or Maltese.

    2. Follow the instructions in the handout.
    3. When you are done taking the quiz, allow some time and go back to the quiz using the same link provided. You will be able to see your teacher’s feedback.
  • Current Events
    1. Browse this website.
    2. Choose at least 1 news article that interests you.
    3. Use not more than 3 sentence to describe the article in your own words. Easy? Think again!
  • Read for at least 30 minutes in either English or Maltese.

    1. Use toothpicks, straws and play dough to create 3D shapes. Make models of the following shapes:
      • Cube
      • Cuboid
      • Triangular-based Pyramid
      • Square-based Pyramid
      • Pentagonal-based Pyramid
      • Hexagonal-based Pyramid.
    2. How well do you know your solid shapes? Investigate!
  • English
    1. Download the Benchmark 2018 Reading Comprehension paper from here.
    2. Set a timer and work out the paper.
    3. If you do not have access to a printer, use a copybook or foolscap.
  • What is an infographic?
    1. Check this website for some examples of infographics.
    2. Create your own inforgraphic. You can do it online using a website like Canva or do it the old fashioned way, with paper and pen! It might be more fun!
  • Read for at least 20 minutes in either English or Maltese.
