At Zabbar Primary B, we are committed to provide the best education possible for our students. Through a focus on innovation and inclusivity, the school has positioned itself at the forefront of educational excellence, recognised at European level through the European Innovative Teaching Award for 2022. And the Erasmus+ programme plays a vital role in our success story.
Our Erasmus+ journey started in 2018 and in 2021, our school became the first state school to receive the Erasmus+ accreditation. Our goal has always been to provide a well-rounded education for our students by supporting the professional development of our teachers and LSEs. The Erasmus+ accreditation is driving our transformative journey even further. To date, 8 members of our teaching staff have attended professional development courses abroad and 9 more teachers will be traveling this summer for more courses in Greece and Italy. These opportunities give teachers and LSEs the tools and resources they need to stay up-to-date with the latest educational methods and techniques. They bring back new ideas and perspectives that are being incorporated into the classroom, allowing our students to benefit from the latest and most innovative educational practices. Teachers have also been sharing their newfound knowledge and skills with their colleagues during staff meetings, empowering them to take on new roles while promoting peer-to-peer engagement and learning.

In addition to supporting the professional development of our teachers, we are also committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in the classroom. By hosting teachers from Lithuania, Germany, and with plans to host more teachers from France, Spain, and Italy, we are exposing our students and teachers to different cultures and ways of life, helping to build a greater understanding and respect for those who are different. Our school will also be hosting Professor Ildikó Lazar as a distinguished expert in April 2023. In addition, 2 of our educators will have the opportunity to job-shadow colleagues in Greece and the Netherlands. Our focus for 2023/2024 will be more professional development courses, job-shadowing mobilities, and we are also updating our Erasmus+ plan to include STEM education. Have a look at our plans here. We are also proud to be developing two KA2 projects in partnership with other schools.
Our commitment to innovation and inclusivity, our focus on professional development and digital competencies, and our emphasis on higher-order thinking and creative skills, all help to ensure that our students are well-equipped for the future. Through our Erasmus+ accreditation, we are proud to be at the forefront of educational excellence and we are looking forward to continuing to build on our success story in the years to come.
